TASI slips, Nomu gains at close Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Sunday on a negative note after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) went down 10.83 points, or 0.13%, to 8,242.71 points, registering its lowest level in 23 sessions.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 131.1 million shares on Sunday, up from 126.61 million shares on Thursday, whereas traded value fell to SAR 3.77 billion, from SAR 3.83 billion.

The media sector decreased 3.1%, followed by healthcare with 1.3%, pharmaceuticals with 0.95%, materials with 0.3%, and banks with 0.26%.

On the other hand, the insurance sector rose 3.4%, while commercial and professional services increased 1.7%.

Saudi Steel Pipe Company’s (SSP) stock retreated 7.1%, whereas Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance’s stock led risers, jumping 10%.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock topped the bourse in terms of value after generating SAR 1.14 billion, while Alinma Bank’s stock led in terms of volume with 43.84 million shares exchanged.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, jumped 30.25 points, or 1.1%, reaching 2,837.27 points, recording its highest level in 12 sessions.

Nomu’s traded volume reached 33,470 shares on Sunday, down from 54,280 shares on Thursday, whereas liquidity rose to SAR 725,970, from SAR 697,290.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock went up 2.1%, whereas Al-Omran Industrial Trading’s stock was the worst performer with 5.3%.

Al-Kathiri Holding's stock topped the parallel market's activities after 6,990 shares were exchanged at a turnover of SAR 191,780.
