TASI slips, Nomu gains early Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) commenced trading on Sunday in the red, extending losses for the second session in a row, whereas the parallel Nomu market was in the green.

By 10:40 am, the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) edged down 0.08% or 5.6 points to 6,858 points. Turnover on TASI amounted to SAR 163.27 million after 10 million shares changed hands through 5,420 transactions.

Most of the main market’s sectors were down, led by leading sectors. The telecom sector fell 0.64%, while the banks and material sectors slipped 0.08% and 0.04%, respectively.

In terms of stocks, Saudi Arabian Cooperative Insurance Company’s (SAICO) led fallers, sliding 1.64% to SAR 20.90, followed by Mobily with 1.6% to SAR 20.40.

On the positive side, Al Baha Investment and Development led risers, surging 9.96% to SAR 24.74.

The Saudi Capital Market Authority (CMA) decided to lift its suspension of Al Baha’s stock starting Sunday, 4 June, after the company reported trimming its accumulated losses to 15.77% of capital.

In the meantime, the Nomu index gained 1.7% or 68.53 points to 4,112.95 points.
