TASI slips, Nomu rises at Thursday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Thursday in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) dropped slightly 0.04%, or 2.91 points, reaching 7,209.71 points.

TASI saw trading of 167.96 million shares on Thursday, against 180.82 million shares on Wednesday, while liquidity declined to SAR 3.46 billion ($923.2 million), from SAR 3.64 billion ($971.47 million).

The utilities sector went down 1.2%, followed by telecommunication services with 0.16%, and banks with 0.04%.

On the other hand, the sectors of commercial and professional services and materials rose 2.1%, and 0.21%, respectively.

Fawaz Alhokair Group’s stock fell 3.05% to SAR 29.60, whereas Tabuk Cement’s stock levelled up 7.69%, reaching SAR 14.56. 

Al Inma Bank’s stock, 1.2% down, led the Tadawul in terms of traded volume after 20.86 million shares were exchanged, while the Saudi Basic Industries Corp’s (SABIC) stock, which dropped 0.23%, topped the market in terms of liquidity, generating SAR 422.7 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market increased 0.25%, or 7.62 points, to 3,101.88 points.

Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock gained 3.66% to SAR 12.46, whereas Al-Kathiri Holding Company’s stock tumbled 3.89%, reaching SAR 19.50.

Arab Sea Information System’s stock topped Nomu in terms of trading volume after 57,200 shares were exchanged, with a liquidity of SAR 635,540. The stock decreased 3.17% to close Thursday at SAR 11.
