TASI slumps 45 pts, Nomu rises slightly Monday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday in red territory, after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) plunged 44.66 points, or 0.6%, to 7,802.27 points.

TASI’s traded volume stood at 138.68 million shares, up from 117.11 million on Sunday, while liquidity increased to SAR 2.93 billion, from SAR 2.45 billion.

The healthcare sector decreased 2.3%, followed by the food and beverages, telecommunication services, banks, and materials sectors with 1.5%, 0.8%, 0.7%,  0.4%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the capital goods sector rose 2.8%, while the real estate investment traded funds (REITs) sector levelled up 1.2%.

National Medical Care Co’s stock was the worst performer with 10% to SAR 41.40, whereas the Saudi Industrial Export Company’s (SIEC) stock was the best performer with 9.9%, reaching SAR 140.20.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corp’s (SABIC) stock was the most active in terms of trading value after generating a turnover of SAR 462.49 million, while Alinma Bank’s stock led in terms of traded volume after 17.87 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, went up 1.86 points, or 0.07%, to finish at 2,524.59 points.

Nomu’s trading volume reached 46,870 shares, down from 176,720 on Sunday, while liquidity slumped to SAR 679,310, from SAR 2.85 million.

Raydan Co’s stock was Nomu’s best performer with 1.3%, whereas the stock of Baazeem Trading Co was the worst performer after dropping 1.5%.

Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company’s stock was the most active in the secondary market after 19,260 shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 185,760.
