TASI soars 323 pts, Nomu rises at close Thursday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Thursday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) skyrocketed 323.03 points, or 4.3%, to 7,835.55 points, registering its highest growth rate in 16 months, or since 21 June 2017.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 319.6 million shares, up from 127.66 million on Wednesday, registering its highest level in more than ten months, or since 10 December 2017.

The bourse’s liquidity also surged, amounting to SAR 9.65 billion, up from SAR 2.9 billion, recording its highest trading value since 21 June 2017.

The pharmaceuticals sector went up 8.7%, followed by the retailing with 5.9%, banks with 5.6%, telecommunication services with 4.6%, and materials with 4.3%.On the flipside, the energy sector levelled down 2.3%.

Mouwasat Medical Services’ stock was the best performer after jumping 9.99%, whereas The Saudi Industrial Export Company’s (SIEC) stock was the worst performer with 6.3%.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock topped in terms of liquidity with SAR 2.3 billion, while the stock of Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Co led in terms of traded volume after 32.3 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, went up 7.21 points, or 0.3%, reaching 2,423.21 points.

Nomu’s trading volume reached 41,640 shares, down from 42,270 on Wednesday, while liquidity declined to SAR 514,700, from SAR 663,800.

The stocks of Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company, Arab Sea Information System Co, and Raydan Co increased 2.2%, 1.4%, and 0.8%, respectively.

Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume after 14,250 shares were exchanged, while Raydan Co’s stock topped in terms of liquidity with SAR 169,620.
