TASI surges 82 pts, Nomu stable early Tuesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) started Tuesday in the green after its main Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) jumped 82.31 points, or 1%, reaching 7,850.62 points in the first session after the holiday of the kingdom’s National Day.

By 10:45 am Saudi time, TASI’s trading volume reached 29.78 million shares exchanged through 22,340 transactions, with a turnover of SAR 649.29 million.

The food and staples retailing sector rose 1.9%, followed by the telecommunication services, banking, and materials sectors with 1.6%, 1.4%, and 1.2%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the consumer services sector decreased by 3.1%.

Saudi International Petrochemical Company’s (Sipchem) stock was the best performer with 4.2%, whereas the stock of Al Tayyar Travel Group was the worst performer with 5.6%.

Meanwhile, NOMU, the benchmark index of the Nomu secondary market, remained unchanged at 2,585.46 points.

The Saudi bourse resumed trading on Tuesday after suspending the activities for two days on the back of celebrating the National Day.
