Riyadh-Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's stock market edged up 0.13% or 9.28 points to close Wednesday at the 7,000 level.
More than 250 million shares were exchanged through over 110,000 transactions at a turnover exceeding SAR 5.3 billion.
Five sectors headed north, topped by real estate development which rose 2.13%. The banking sector also rose 0.45%.
Meanwhile, 10 sectors headed south, led by the agriculture which dropped 2.12%.
Wrapping up equities, Emaar EC led the way in gains, rocketing 9.66% to SAR 10.9, followed by Knowledge Economic City which soared 7.09% to SAR 15.4.
On the other hand, ANB Insurance was the major disappointment, tumbling 5.31% to SAR 53.5. Saudi Chemical had the second-worst showing, with a loss of 4.49% to SAR 59.5.
Alinma Bank was the most active in terms of traded volume with 62.4 million shares, while Research and Marketing led in number of trades with 8,584.
