Cairo – Mubasher: Sources in the telecommunication sector said that Telecom Egypt (TE) will launch 4G SIM cards in the Egyptian markets after the Eid Al Adha holiday, according to Almal News.
The SIM cards have been produced by foreign companies, and will be given the code of 0155, sources told the news outlet.
Foreign firms helped TE to provide mobile phone services in the local market next September, the company noted.
Moreover, the Egyptian firm will introduce cellular local roaming services in six cities, namely Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, Sham El-Sheikh, and Hurghada, as an initial phase until the start of 4G operation.
By the end of May 2017, TE signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Etisalat Egypt to provide 2G and 3G cellular services.
