Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) opened Sunday and the week on a positive note, back by the banking sector and its heavyweight Al Rajhi Bank.
By 10:40 am Saudi time, the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) gained 0.94% or 73.27 points, breaking 7,900 points and reaching 7,903.74 points.
Turnover amounted to SAR 666.51 million after 22.06 million shares changed hands through 18,140 transactions.
The banks sector added 1.7% after Al Rajhi led risers with 4% on the back of news that its extraordinary general meeting (EGM) had approved a capital hike and that its board had recommended a cash dividend to shareholders for the second half of 2018.
On the other hand, the secondary market index “NOMU” dropped significantly.
