Tadawul closes Thursday lower; Nomu index rises

Riyadh – Mubasher: The benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday’s trading session in the red zone, retreating 0.86% or 62.44 points to close at 7,203.99 points.

The market’s trading value shrank to SAR 2.47 billion on Thursday from SAR 2.69 billion in the previous session, after the trading volume decreased to 124.55 million shares from 129.25 million.

The utilities segment led 14 decliners with 3.3%, followed by the real estate and telecom sectors with a fall of 1.8% and 1.3%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the media segment topped six gainers with 3.7%, followed by the commercial services and retail sectors which rose 1.2% and 0.72%, respectively.

Al Ahli Takaful led losers with a drop of 4.4%, while Al Hokair Co was the top winner with a rise of 4.7%.

Meanwhile, the main index (NOMU) of Nomu-Parallel Market gained 1.7% or 61.51 points to close the session at 3,668.35 points.

Nomu’s liquidity decreased to SAR 2.75 million on Thursday from SAR 6.3 million in the past session, after around 103,200 shares were traded compared to approximately 240,100.

Al Aseel led five shares in the red zone with a decline of 2.5% to close at SAR 58, while Al Omran topped three winners with a rise of 3.7% to close at SAR 22.08.

Baazeem was the most active stock on which about 25,230 shares were exchanged at a value of around SAR 586,660.
