Tadawul closes in red on Wednesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday’s session down for the second session in a row.

The main index shed 0.45% or 30.57 points to stand at 6,237.56 points.

Turnover declined 21.7% to SAR 3.48 billion on Wednesday compared to SAR 4.45 billion on Tuesday.

The real estate development led the worst performers losing 1.23%, affected by Jabal Omar Development which fell 1.14%.

Dar Al-Arkan Real Estate Development Company and Emaar also decreased 3.17% and 3.10%, respectively, while Arriyadh Development Co. rose 0.76%.

The banks sector went down 0.72%, on the back of Al Rajhi Bank and the Saudi National Commercial Bank (NCB) which lost 0.56% and 0.88%, respectively.

The petrochemical sector also shed 0.58%, weighted by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Saudi Arabian Fertiliser Company (Safco) which decreased 0.26% and 0.35%, respectively.

The telecommunication sector witnessed a 0.25% decline, affected by Mobily which was down 1.66%, although Saudi Telecom Company (STC) increased 1.46%.

Wataniya Insurance led 110 losing stocks falling 6.82%, while Saudi Printing and Packaging topped the best performers gaining 9.85%.
