Tadawul down 32pts at Wednesday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday’s trading session in decline, after showing signs of recovery yesterday.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell by 0.42% or 32.02 points and closed at 7,524.50 points after the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) lowered interest rates following a similar sudden move by the US Federal Reserve as fears of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) causing a global economic slowdown intensifies.

Traded volumes amounted to 174 million shares with a total turnover of SAR 4.29 billion.

The banks sector lost 1.60%, while real estate and energy went down by 0.14% and 0.06%, respectively.

On the other hand, telecom and materials increased by 1.09% and 0.30%, in that order, while food retail led the rising sector indices and added 2.36%.

Out of 198 listed stocks, 96 ended the session in the green zone, led by Shaker that surged by 6.01, while 82 stocks closed in red, with NCLE topping the losers and plunging by 5.65%.

Meanwhile, the Nomu-Parallel Market soared by 3.66% to close at the level of 7,222.77 points.
