Tadawul down early Wednesday; Nomu up slightly

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) opened Wednesday’s trades at a slight decline, with the benchmark Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) slipping 0.02% or 1.45 points to 6,991.68 points.

By 10:45am Saudi time, turnover reached SAR 589.97 million after 29.48 million shares changed hands through 17,790 transactions.

Eleven sectors were down, with only the media and publishing sector in the green, adding 2.6%.

A total of 79 companies’ shares traded down, led by Arab Sea Information System on the Nomu-Parallel Market, which fell 3.4%, followed by TASI-listed Printing and Packaging with 2.7%.

The banking and materials sectors edged down 0.13% and 0.01%, respectively, which pressured the benchmark index.

On the other hand, 61 companies’ stocks traded up, led by National Gypsum Co with 2.9%, while 29 remained unchanged.

Meanwhile, the Nomu index edged up slightly on Wednesday by 0.07% or 4.20 points to 5,768.48 points, following a series of jittery sessions.
