Tadawul drops to 16-session low Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) extended its losses on Sunday after its benchmark the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) and its NOMU parallel market index ended in the red.

TASI marked its fourth straight fall, shedding 0.29% or 22.78 points to close at 7,730.58 points, its lowest level in 16 sessions or since 29 November 2018.

Turnover dropped to SAR 2.88 billion on Sunday from SAR 3.43 billion, while volumes decreased to 115.7 million shares from 133.32 million.

The media and commercial services sectors lost 2.5% each, food production declined 1.6%, while leading sectors such as materials and telecommunications sank 0.67% and 0.33%, respectively.

On the other hand, only four sectors were in the green, led by insurance with 0.9%.

Asmak’s stock led 112 fallers on TASI on Sunday, sliding 9.9%, whereas MetLife topped the 63 risers, surging 9.95%.

Al Rajhi’s stock was value leader with SAR 332.23 million in turnover, while Alinma Bank registered the highest volume after 14.15 million shares changed hands.

As for the Nomu Parallel Market Index “NOMU”, it also marked its fourth straight decline, losing 1.4% or 33.34 points to close at 2,366.91 points on Sunday, its lowest level in 18 sessions.

Turnover on NOMU more than halved to SAR 1.09 million from SAR 3.12 million on Thursday, while volumes saw 48,770 shares exchanged against 186,060.
