Tadawul ends Monday below 6,000 pts

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange maintained its losses on Monday for the second day in a row, falling below the levels of 6000 points.

The main index decreased 2.05% or 124 points to the level of 5,935.96 points.

Turnover grew 67% to reach SAR 2.76 billion ($735.67 million) compared to SAR 1.65 billion ($440 million) on Sunday, while traded volume hiked 83.4% to 170.25 million shares from 92.8 million shares yesterday.

The insurance sector led the red sectors losing 4.11%, on the back of The Company for Cooperative Insurance’s (Tawuniya) and Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance which were down 2.86% to SAR 85 and 3.72% to SAR 113.5, respectively.

The banks sector went down 2.24%, weighted by Al Rajhi Bank and the National Commercial Bank (NCB) which retreated 2.72% to SAR 55.75 and 2.81% to SAR 33.60, respectively.

The petrochemical sector slipped 0.95%, affected by SABIC which shed 0.1% to SAR 83, while SAFCO increased 1.67% to SAR 68.75.

Saudi Industrial Export Company (SIEC) topped the 162 losing stocks declining 9.92% to SAR 30.60, followed by Malath Cooperative Insurance and Reinsurance Company which dropped 9.3% to SAR 9.95.

On the other hand, Taiba Holding led the six green stocks adding 1.77% to SAR 37.4, followed by SAFCO which advanced 1.67%.

SABIC was the most active in terms of traded of SAR 504.8 million, representing 18.3 of Tadawul’s total values, through exchanging 6.5 million shares, through 3,300 transactions.
