Tadawul ends Thursday at 2M-high; traded volume falls

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange's (Tadawul) benchmark index resumed its rise on Thursday, following two straight declines, but was accompanied by falling trading volumes.

TASI grew 1.18% or 70.84 points and closed at 6,060.46 points, its highest level in almost two months or since 8 September, when it ended at 6,176.53 points.

Traded volume decreased 17.56% to 206.7 million shares from 250.75 million on Wednesday, while turnover fell 12.6% to SAR 3.18 billion from SAR 3.6 billion in the previous session.

Tadawul's sectors rose collectively, with the industrial investment sector adding 2.13% followed by telecommunications, retail, banks and petrochemicals with 1.73%, 1.71%, 1.01% and 0.88%, respectively. The investment sector was the lowest gainer, adding 0.68%.

Meanwhile, a total of 151 stocks representing 89.35% of Tadawul's listed stocks, whereas 15 stocks, representing 8.88% of the market, ended in the red, while 3 stocks remained stable.

Al Ahlia Cooperative Insurance and Solidarity recorded the highest gains, surging 9.63% and 8.57%, respectively, whereas Aseer Trading, Al Rajhi for Cooperative Insurance and GO were the biggest losers, shedding 2.11%, 1.46% and 1.32%, respectively.
