Tadawul ends Wednesday above 6,600 pts

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) made its third rise in a row on Wednesday, amid an improvement in liquidity.

The benchmark rose 1.1% or 71.54 points to the level of 6,604.96 points, breaking above 6,600 for the first time since 22 May.

Turnover increased to SAR 5.66 billion, the highest in 11 sessions, from SAR 3.95 billion on Tuesday, while traded volume rose to 359 million shares from 261.36 million shares exchanged yesterday.

Hotel and tourism was the best performing sector after adding 2.63%, backed by a growth of 3.55% in Al Tayyar Travel Group Holding's stock.

The petrochemicals sector advanced 1.42% as SABIC and SAFCO leapt 1.26% and 2.3% respectively.

The banks sector gained 1.06% as Al-Rajhi Bank and National Commercial Bank (NCB) rose 0.57% and 1.34% respectively.

Dar Al Arkan was the top riser after surging 9.38% to SAR 5.95. The stock was the most traded with a volume of 66.37 million shares.

Meanwhile, Fawaz Abdulaziz Al Hokair topped decliners, falling 2.05% to SAR 47.70.

Alinma Bank made the highest liquidity of SAR 730.48 million through exchanging 54.48 million shares.

The index closed Tuesday’s trading at a rise of 0.87%.
