Tadawul ends Wednesday in red

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday’s trades on a negative note.

The main index shed 0.29% or 20 points to stand at the level of 6,853.45 points.

Traded values increased to around SAR 4.72 billion ($1.26 billion) compared to SAR 3.9 billion ($1.04 million) on Tuesday, while traded volumes reached 242.5 million shares up from 208.88 million shares yesterday.

The consumer durables lost 3.74%, after Lazurde Company dropped 9.82%.

The utilities sector went down 3.25%, affected by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) decreased 3.27% to SAR 19.85.

The capital goods levelled down 0.59%, weighted by the decrease of SABIC and SAFCO by 0.53% to SAR 93.25 and 1.26% to SAR 72, respectively.

The banks added 0.25%, backed by Al Rajhi Bank and the National Commercial Bank (NCB) which increased 0.71% to SAR 62.75 and 0.22% to SAR 40.70, respectively.

The telecommunication sector went up 0.06%, supported by the rise of Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and Mobily which levelled up 0.01% to SAR 66.75 and 0.4%, respectively.

Lazurde Company declined 9.82%, followed by Saudi Arabian Amiantit Company which fell 9.5% to SAR 7.05.

On the other hand, Buruj Cooperative Insurance surged 9.84% to SAR 26.80, followed by Arabian Shield Cooperative Insurance which hiked 9.72% to SAR 53.75.

Alinma was the most active in terms of traded volumes and values of SAR 473.88 million through trading 32.46 million shares. The stock rose 2.96% to SAR 14.55.
