Tadawul ends week in losses after 5 straight gains

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) returned to losses during the week, after ended five consecutive weeks in gains, while the Nomu-Parallel Market rose for the second week in a row.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) lost 0.23% or 17.4%, and ended the week at the level of 7,521.64 points.

Market capital settled at SAR 1.767 trillion, near its levels by the end of last week.

The majority of the market sector indices ended the week in red, as food and real estate dropped 3.77% and 2.12%, respectively, while banks slipped 0.03%.

On the other hand, only six sectors made gains this week, as retail rose 3.64%, with telecom and materials, increasing by 0.57% and 0.43%.

Traded values decreased by 17.9% to SAR 14.68 billion, compared to SAR 17.87 billion in the previous week.

Traded volumes also declined to 839.3 million shares, compared to 939.7 million shares in the week before.

In the parallel market, the NOMU index added 0.21% as it closed at 3,097.52 points by the end of the week.

However, Nomu saw a decline in total turnovers to SAR 4.76 million compared to 6.4 million last week, with traded volumes reaching 225,250 shares down from 334,900 shares.
