Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) opened Tuesday’s session in the red.
The main index fell 2.64% or 158 points to reach 5,798 points, by 11:00am KSA time.
Around 78.8 million shares were exchanged at a value of SAR 1.12 billion, distributed over 29,600 transactions.
The hotel sector lost 4.94%, followed by the media and telecommunication sectors which decreased by 4.16% and 3.17%, respectively.
The petrochemical sector was down 2.03%, while the banks sector slipped 2%.
Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol) led the losing stocks dropping 7.35%, followed by Middle East Specialized Cables Company (MESC) and Saudi Telecom Company (STC) which declined 7.2% and 2.75%, respectively.
Al Rajhi Bank fell 2.3%, while SABIC shed 0.64%.
