Tadawul finishes 2019 1st session in red

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Tuesday, the first trading session in 2019, in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) retreated 28.34 points, or 0.36%, to 7,798.39 points.

TASI’s liquidity fell to SAR 1.63 billion ($434.13 million), from SAR 2 billion ($531.73 billion), while trading volume reached 62.44 million shares, down from 75.26 million in the session before.

The diversified financials, capital goods, materials, banking, and telecommunication services sectors decreased 1.13%, 0.74%, 0.43%, 0.38%, and 0.27%, respectively.

On the other hand, the insurance sector rose 0.38%, while the utilities sector increased by 0.16%.

Saudi Fisheries Company’s (Alasmak) stock led losers with 8.81%, whereas Amana Cooperative Insurance’s stock topped gainers with 9.29%.

Alasmak’s stock led the main market in terms of liquidity with SAR 275.78 million, while Alinma Bank’s stock posted the highest traded volume with 9 million shares.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, tumbled 3.72 points, or 0.15%, to close at 2,517.01 points.

Al Kathiri Holding Company’s stock led losers with 4.76%, while Al Omran Industrial and Trading Company’s stock surged 20%.
