Tadawul gains 20 pts at close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The main index of Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday’s trading rising 0.31% or 20 points to the level of 6,500.42 points.

During its first trading session, L'azurde came second in the green list with a growth of 7.57% to SAR 39.80 as 9.4 million shares were exchanged at SAR 379.67 million.

The cement sector was the best performer after adding 1.01%, backed by the increase in Saudi Cement and Yamama Cement by 1.96% and 1% respectively.

The telecom sector also leapt by 0.67% as STC advanced 0.47% to SAR 64.25 and Mobily grew 0.55%.

The banks sector rose 0.51% thanks to a growth of 0.61% in Al-Rajhi Bank.

The petrochemicals sector levelled up 0.26% as SABIC increased 0.16% to SAR 81, while SAFCO declined 0.39% to SAR 59.50.

On the flipside, the media and publishing sector dropped 2.11% as Tihama Advertising and Public Relations shrank 2.74% to SAR 32.60.

Turnover decreased to SAR 3.98 billion from SAR 4.26 billion on Tuesday, trading volume also shrank 261.47 million shares from 305.6 million shares exchanged yesterday.

Dar Al Arkan was the most active stock with a volume of 87.7 million shares exchanged at SAR 583.5 million.
