Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday’s session on a positive performance.
The main index rose 0.40% or 23.78 points to stand at 5,948.9 points.
Turnover retreated 15.76% to SAR 2.1 billion from SAR 2.5 billion on Tuesday, while the traded volume went down 19.72% to 116 million shares compared to 144 million shares yesterday.
The insurance sector was up 1.72%, followed by the cement and media sectors which added 1.61% and 1.37%, respectively.
The petrochemical and telecom sectors also advanced 0.71% and 1.24%, respectively.
On the other hand, the real estate development led the losing sectors shedding 0.38%, followed by the banks and agriculture sectors which were down 0.18% and 0.16%, respectively.
On the stocks level, 126 shares levelled up, 36 levelled down and 7 remained unchanged.
Saudi United Cooperative Insurance Co. (Walaa) topped the gaining stocks advancing 6.88%, followed by Samba financial group which increased 4.86%.
Al Rajhi Bank led the red stocks losing 2.81%, followed by GASCO and Saudia Dairy and Foodstuff Co. (Sadafco) which decreased 1.94% and 1.17%, respectively.
