Tadawul likely to see $40-50bn capital inflows in 2019 – CEO

Riyadh – Mubahser: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) is expected to see capital inflows ranging from $40 billion to $50 billion during 2019, the bourse’s CEO Khalid Al Hussan said.

Capital inflows are likely to increase on the back of upgrading the bourse to an emerging market status in three global indices; namely, FTSE Russell, MSCI, and S&P DJI as well as the rapid increase in the number of qualified foreign investors (QFI), Al Hussan added in Tadawul annual report for 2018.

The “market statistics showed a very commendable performance in what was a lacklustre year for most stock markets,” he added.

Over the course of 2018, Tadawul posted a 13% increase in its gross profit to reach SAR 285 million.
