Riyadh – Mubasher: The main index of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Sunday's session losing 2.21% or 124.48 to stand at 5,506.78 points, on the back of the banks sector.
Traded volume reached 187 million shares at a value of SAR 2.7 billion ($730 million), through 81,200 transactions.
Banque Saudi Fransi led the 143 declining stocks falling 9.88% to SAR 18.25, followed by Gulf General Cooperative Insurance and Saudi Hollandi Bank which lost 8.39% to SAR 11.40 and 7.18% to SAR 9.05, respectively.
National Agricultural Development Co (Nadec) topped the 26 gaining stocks adding 4.51% to 19.20.
The banks sector led the red zone falling 4.45%, followed by the energy and telecom sectors which decreased 3.83% and 2.23%, respectively.
On the other hand, the agriculture, media and retail sectors were the only gainers advancing 0.35%, 0.17% and 0.09%, respectively.
Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development was the most active in terms of traded volume by 27.7 million shares. The stock closed down 6.88% to SAR 4.60, while SABIC was the most active in terms of turnover of SAR 360 million. The stock closed down 1.19% to SAR 83.25.
