Tadawul losses 19 pts on Thursday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The main index of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) shed 0.28% or 18.87 points to stand at 6,628.88 points at the end of Thursday's session.

Turnover reached SAR 4.28 billion on Thursday from SAR 5.28 billion on Wednesday, while traded volume retreated 12% to 308.4 million shares, compared to 350.5 million shares yesterday.

The Real Estate Investment Trusts sector (REIT) led the falling sectors and went down 2.83%, followed by the real estate development and retail sectors which decreased 1.72% and 0.78%, respectively.

On the other hand, the petrochemical led the green zone and added 0.09%, followed by the cement sector which went up 0.33%.

"I'm still optimistic that the consensus reached in Algeria for capping production will translate, God willing, into caps on states' levels and fair and balanced cuts among countries," Saudi energy minister Khalid al-Falih told Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya TV on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Technical analyst, Mohamed Al Mimouni, told Mubasher that the market was totally separated from the oil, as the oil prices fell to $46 targeting $44, but the market took an opposite path.
