Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) surged nearly 4.19% in 2016, after declining through the two previous years consecutively.
Tadawul slide by 17.06% and 2.37% in 2015 and 2014 respectively.
Through 2016, the Saudi market total turnover gained 29.5%, while the trading volume added 3.77%.
The market capitalization gained 6.25% to reach SAR 1.68 trillion by the end of 2016.
The market sectors gains in 2016, were topped by the petrochemical sector as it gained 25%, while the real estate sector came in the second place as it added 21.5% followed by each of the banking sector and the energy sector as they gained 1.93% and 40.98% respectively.
In December 2016, the market sector advanced collectively where the telecom sector and the real estate fund sectors were the sole decliners by 0.66% and 3.06% respectively.
The fourth quarter of 2016 also witnessed collective gains of the market sectors.
The market price of the Saudi stocks recorded its most high level in 18 months, since June 2015, to reach SAR 2.02 trillion.
