Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) on Thursday announced that it will change the media sector's name to “media and entertainment” based on the recent GICS Periodical Review effective from 30 September.
GICS also includes renaming the “telecommunication services” sector to “communication services” sector, according to Tadawul’s recent statement.
“Since Tadawul applies (level 2) on market sectors and indices, this change will only affect the naming of the “Media” to “Media & Entertainment”, and no changes shall affect companies currently under this sector,” the statement highlighted.
