Tadawul resumes losses, most sectors down Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) resumed its losses at Sunday’s close, following a semi-collective decline of its sectors amid low liquidity.

The benchmark Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) fell 0.69% or 48.69 points to close at 6,967.97 points.

Similarly, the Nomu- Parallel Market closed 1.01% down, shedding 60.55 points to 5,933.79 points.

TASI sectors were all in the red with the exception of the foodstuff sectors, which gained 0.56% on the back of Savola and Al Marai with a respective increase of 0.48% and 0.36%.

The consumer services sector led losers, sliding 3.42% after Al Tayyar retreated 5.11% to SAR 33.40, ranking top faller on Tadawul. This sharp drop in the company’s stock followed an announcement in which the company denied signing agreements in Indonesia.

The basic industries and banks sectors were down 0.68% and 0.62%, respectively, while the telecom sector lost 0.29%.

At the level of the stocks, 128 companies ended down and 38 ended up. The latter were led by Saudi Arabia Refineries Co. (SARCO) with 6.29% to SAR 38.50.

Al Tayyar was the most active in terms of turnover, generating SAR 404.87 million, while Dar Al Arkan was the most active in terms of volume after 31.8 million shares were exchanged. The stock slipped 1% to SAR 6.
