Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended the first week of the New Year on a positive note, after its benchmark, the Tadawul All-Share index (TASI) grew 1.05% or 81.15 points to close at 7,830.47 points.
Market capitalisation increased by SAR 24.217 billion ($6.46 billion) to reach SAR 1.867 trillion ($497.77 billion) against SAR 1.842 trillion ($491.3 billion) last week.
Meanwhile, turnover on TASI dropped 33.9% to SAR 8.638 billion ($2.3 billion) this week from SAR 12.27 billion ($3.27 billion), while traded volume saw a similar decrease to 340.59 million shares during the course of the week compared to 515.41 million.
A total of 16 sectors were in the green, led by insurance with 3.35%, followed by food production with 3.28%.
