Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Sunday’s trading in green for the second consecutive session, after overcoming early trade losses with a positive performance of the majority of its sectors.
Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) went up by 0.34%, gaining 23 points, and closed at the level of 6,898.93 points.
The main index gains were accompanied by an increase in traded values to SAR 4.66 billion ($1.24 billion) compared to 4.42 billion ($1.18 billion) on last session, while volumes reached 278.75 million shares up from 236.37 million shares on Thursday.
The media sector gained 2.83% as Research and Marketing as well as Tihama added 3.12% and 2% closing at SAR 32.7 and SAR 26.7 respectively.
Materials grew 1.35% as SABIC and SAFCO went up by 0.69% and 1.8%, and closed at SAR 93.5 and SAR 72.25 respectively.
The telecom sector increased by 1.3% as all of its stocks closed in green, led by STC which rose 1.42% ro SAR 67.25, while Zain and Mobily added 0.83% and 1.71% respectively.
On the other hand, banks lost 0.51% as Al Rajhi declined by 0.02% and NCB fell by 0.19%.
Meanwhile, 130 stocks closed in green while 37 closed in red, as Alujain led the session’s gainers and surged 9.83% to SAR 19, while Care was the biggest decliner and dropped 9.97% and closed at SAR 56.25.
Dar Al Arkan was the most active in both traded values and volumes with 66 million shares and a turnover of SAR 393.55 million, the stock closed at SAR 6.15, rising by 6.2%.
