Tadawul rises slightly; petchem at 4-month low

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) gained on Thursday amid sideways movement between 6,999 points and 6.960 points.

The main index rose 7 points to close at 6,941 points.

Traded value amounted to SAR 4.5 billion – the lowest in a month – while traded volume reach 203 million shares exchanged in 106,000.

Sectors were mixed, as the petrochemical industries fell by 1.13% to close at the lowest level in four months.

The retail sector came second, with a decline of 0.8%, followed by agriculture that sagged 0.63%.

Meanwhile, the media sector was the top gainer, with 7.7% growth, followed by multi-investment (+1.47%) and transportation (+1.27%).

61 companies moved higher topped by SRMG and Saudi Printing that soared by their maximum levels. Paper came second with a jump of 6.17%.

Meanwhile, 98 other companies moved lower led by Yansab (-3.97%) and Advanced Petrochemical (-3.74%).
