Tadawul’s indices retreat in week; market cap hits over SAR 2bn

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) indices ended the week in red.

Market capitalisation declined by 3.08% to SAR 2.018 billion ($538.28 million) over the week, compared to SAR 2.082 billion ($555.41 million) a week earlier.

The Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) lost 235.09 points, or 2.65%, to 8,612.85 points in a week.

Over the week, the joint index between Tadawul and MSCI, MT30 index, declined by 36.94 points, or 2.81%, to 1,279.26 points, while the benchmark index of the Nomu secondary market (NOMU) shed 53 points, or 1.48%, to 3,521.22 points.

The telecom, pharmaceuticals, and real estate sectors levelled down 5.73%, 5.59%, and 5.35%, respectively.

Tadawul’s trading volume reached 819.416 million shares over the week, while the market’s liquidity hit SAR 2.018 billion ($538.28 million).
