Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Tuesday’s trading in the green zone, for the fourth consecutive session, registering its highest gain in 13 sessions.
Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) added 2.1% or 130 points, its highest gain since 20 October, closing at the level of 6,327.79 points, its highest level since 16 August 2016.
Total turnovers increased to SAR 5.84 billion ($1.56 billion) from SAR 3.86 billion ($1.03 billion) on Monday, this is the highest level of traded volume since 23 May.
Meanwhile, traded volumes went up today to 363.16 million shares compared to 253.3 million shares on yesterday’s session.
As for the sectors performance, media and publishing was the top gainer as it increased by 7.02%, on the back of Research and Marketing, as well as Printing and Packaging surged 7.37% and 6.91%, closing at SAR 20.7 and SAR 12.85 respectively.
Banks went up by 2.72% as all of its stocks rose, led by Al-Rajhi which added 3.75% and closed at SAR 61.75, while Al Ahli levelled up by 1.81% to SAR 42.80.
Similarly, the petrochem sector saw a 1.93% increase, on the back of SABIC which added 1.28% and closed at SAR 86.25, while SAFCO slipped 0.1% and closed at SAR 67.75.
The energy sector recorded the smallest gains today adding 0.32%, as Saudi Electricity and National Gas edged up by 0.27% and 0.9% respectively.
As for the stocks performance, 133 closed in green, as Jouf Cement led today’s gainers and surged 7.57% and closed at SAR 8.1, while Extra was the session’s biggest decliner as it lost 1.5% to the level of SAR 17.7.
SABIC registered the highest traded value with SAR 502.26 million, while Dar Alarkan the most active in traded volumes with 85.6 million shares.
