Tadawul sees mixed performance in week

Riyadh-Mubasher: The sectors of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended the third week of May with a mixed performance.

The general index edged down 0.01% or 0.44 points to reach 6,695.26 points in the week ended 19 May, as compared to 6,694.82 points in the previous week which ended 12 May.

The media and publishing sector led the decliners by falling 2.46%, followed by the real estate development which lost 1.67%.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector headed the gainers by rising 3.57%, followed by the retail sector which gained 2.28%.

Al Hokair was the top winner over this week, rising 13.6% to SAR 42.80.  AXA Cooperative Insurance led the losers by dropping 10% to SAR 16.99.

Al Rajhi Bank levelled down 0.57% to SAR 59.03, and National Commercial Bank lost 0.26% to reach SAR 42.59.

Over the week, Tadawul’s liquidity declined 9.15% to SAR 26.3 billion as compared to SAR 28.96 billion in the previous week, as trading volume decreased 15.4% to 1.27 billion shares as compared to 1.5 billion a week ago.

Inma Bank was the most active stock on which 243.6 million shares were traded with a value worth SAR 3.4 billion. The stock ended this week falling 1.57% to SAR 13.78.
