Tadawul up 0.74% at Monday close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Monday’s session in the green, supported by the banks and petrochemicals sectors.

The main index added 0.74% or 43.59 points to stand at 5,956.59 points.

Turnover marginally increased to SAR 2.06 billion ($549 million), compared to SAR 2.05 billion ($547 million) on Sunday.

On the contrary, traded volume retreated to 115 million shares from 122.94 million shares yesterday.

The telecommunication and hotel sectors went down 0.30% and 0.28%, respectively, while the media sector remained unchanged.

The agriculture sector topped the best performers advancing 1.53%, followed by the banks and energy sectors which increased 1.29% and 0.96%, respectively.

Alinma Tokio Marine Co. led the gaining stock rising 10% to SAR 17.50m followed by Saudi Indian Company for Cooperative Insurance Company (Wafa Insurance) which added 9.8% to SAR 14.35.

On the other hand, Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol) led the losing stocks falling 1.80% to SAR 6, followed by Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Appliances Corporation’s (Spimaco) which slipped 1.75% to SAR 33.70.

Al Inma Bank was the most active in terms of traded value and volume, exchanging 29 million shares at a value of SAR 373.4 million. The stock rose 0.81% to SAR 12.45.
