Tadawul up 0.8% at close on Tuesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Tuesday’s session in the green, the third session in a row, amid improving liquidity.

The main index rose 0.84% or 55.44 points to close at 6,625.78 points.

Technical analyst, Salem Al-Shwaiman, said that the market is in an upward trend with a great chance for purchasing coinciding with the positive expectations for companies’ results.

He added that the petrochemical industries and banks sectors were the direct supporters for the market’s rise.

The industrial investment sector topped gainers, adding4.4%, followed by the hotel and tourism sector by 1.6%.

The petrochemical industries sector levelled up 1.34%, while banks and telecommunications sectors grew 0.31% and 0.41%, respectively. The cement sector achieved the lowest gains, increasing 0.19%.

On the other hand, the energy and utilities sector was the only decliner,  levelling down 0.87%.

Amana Cooperative Insurance led the top performers with 9.76% to SAR 9.45, while Ash-Sharqiyah Development posted the highest drop of 1.09% to close at SAR 40.

Yanbu National Petrochemicals Co. (Yansab) was the only loser in the petrochemical sector by 0.52% to SAR 42, while Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) edged up 0.5% to stand at SAR 82.25.

Saudi British Bank (SABB), Al Rajhi Bank and Arab National Bank (ANB) were the worst performers in the banks sector, as Al Rajhi Bank lost 0.1% to SAR 59.

On the other hand, National Commercial Bank (NCB) levelled up to SAR 82.25.

Trading value advanced to SAR 4.37 billion ($1.17 billion), compared to SAR 3.73 billion ($994 million) in the previous session.

Trading volume also grew to 274.4 million shares from 258.24 million shares on Monday.

Al Inma Bank was the most active stock in terms of trading value and volume, achieving a turnover of SAR 700.84 million through trading 52.17 million shares. The bank closed at SAR 13.45, rising 1.58%.
