Telecom, banks stocks boost ADX at Monday’s close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Monday’s trading session in green territory, pushed by the growth of the telecom and banks sectors.

The general index inched up by 0.39 points, or 0.01%, closing the session at 4,817.52 points.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 44.49 million shares exchanged with a turnover of AED 102 million through 891 transactions.

The telecommunication sector and its sole stock, Etisalat, topped the risers adding 0.47%, each.

Similarly, the banks sector levelled up 0.14% after Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) grew 0.50%.

The investment sector headed the losers falling 0.56% due to Finance House’s 9.76% drop, while the energy sector plunged 2.27% as Dana Gas went down 6.67%.

The real estate sector retreated 1.78% as Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties decreased by 5.10% and 1.31%, respectively.

By the end of the session, Etisalat’s stock led the market in terms of liquidity with AED 32.16 million, while Dana Gas’s stock posted the highest trading volume with 16.42 million shares.
