Telecom, industry sectors boost QSE at Monday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Monday in the green adding 0.18% or 18.19 points to reach 9,851.77 points.

The telecoms sector rose 0.99% as Ooredoo gained 1.29%, while the insurance sector grew 0.58% after Qatar Islamic Insurance, Doha Insurance, and Qatar Insurance Company increased 4.39%, 2.09%, and 1%, respectively.

The industrials sector levelled up 0.51% as Qatari Investors Group increased 1.62% and Industries Qatar went up 1.31%.

On the flipside, the consumer goods and services sector dropped 0.24% after Qatar Fuel (Woqod) and Mannai Corporation lost 0.81% and 0.13%, respectively.

The transportation sector inched down 0.07% as Qatar Gas Transport (Nakilat) decreased 0.52%, while the banks sector slipped 0.06% after Doha Bank and Qatar National Bank (QNB) tumbled 0.65% and 0.22%, respectively.

Traded volume dropped to 8.7 million shares on Monday against 9.1 million shares on Sunday, whereas liquidity reached QAR 237.91 million against QAR 198.73 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of trading volume with 2.61 million shares traded, while Industries Qatar was the most active in terms of trading value with a liquidity of QAR 49.43 million.

Earlier on Monday, the main index rose 0.09% reaching 9,842.11 points.
