Telecom, real estate stocks drag QSE 0.29% lower at close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Thursday’s trading with a fall of 0.29% or 29.97 points to the level of 10,435.46 points.

Trading volume rose 31.3% to 6.92 million shares from 5.27 million shares exchanged on Wednesday, turnover also increased 80.2% to QAR 280.5 million from QAR 155.66 million.

Six sectors closed on a negative note, topped by the telecom, real estate and banking sectors as they declined by 1.84%, 1.34% and 0.03% respectively.

On the flipside, the transportation sector grew 0.78%, the insurance sector rose 0.52% and the industrial sector leapt 0.07%.

Zad Holding topped losers with a 5.52% decrease, while Al Khaleej Takaful led gainers by adding 3.5%.

Vodafone Qatar made the biggest trading volume activity of 1.5 million shares, whereas Industries Qatar made the highest liquidity of QAR 4.09 million.
