Telecom, real estate stocks push DFM higher Wednesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) saw a positive performance on Wednesday, backed by the rise of blue chips in the telecom and real estate sectors.

The DFMGI rose 0.27% or 9.74 points to reach 3,589.30 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 343.095 million on Wednesday, compared to AED 226.218 million on Tuesday. Trading volume reached 205.647 million shares, compared to 206.369 million shares.

The telecom sector grew 1.07% as du gained 1.07%.

GFH Financial Group was the most active stock, generating AED 117.75 million from the exchange of 64.8 million shares.

The real estate sector increased 0.48% after Arabtec Holding, Union Properties (UP), and Emaar Properties went up 2.48%, 1.22%, and 0.97%, respectively.

The telecom sector rose 0.31% as Air Arabia gained 0.89%.

On the other hand, the investment sector fell 0.30% due to a decline in Dubai Investments by 0.42%.
