Telecom Egypt Q3 profits jump to EGP 1.2bn

Cairo - Mubasher: Landline monopoly Telecom Egypt (TE) announced Monday that its net earnings for the third quarter of 2015 leaped 359.8% to EGP 1.2 billion compared with EGP 262.5 million in the same period a year earlier.

The company's topline reached EGP 2.9 billion in Q3, while the earnings per share reached EGP 0.70, up 359.8% y-o-y.

As for the first nine months of 2015, TE's standalone profits declined 64% to EGP 429.6 million from EGP 1.19 billion a year before. Meanwhile, consolidated net profit for the nine-month period, taking into consideration minority interest, rose by 108% y-o-y to EGP 2.14 billion from EGP 1.03 billion.

Earlier, the company said it reported net profits of EGP 932 million in the first half of 2015, compared with EGP 763 million for the similar period of last year.
