Cairo – Mubasher: Telecom Egypt signed a strategic partnership agreement with Amsterdam-based AMS-IX to establish an internet exchange point in Egypt (EG-IX) inside the Egyptian telecom operator’s international Tier III certificated data centre in the Smart Village.

EG-IX will enable effective communication for the content and cloud service providers, application developers, and telecommunications companies looking to enhance the digital experience for internet users in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East”, according to a statement by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Tuesday.

The data centre will be run, using IX-as-a-Service (IXasS) solution, which is developed by AMS-IX for establishing and operating IXs all over the world.
