Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) trimmed its gains by the end of Wednesday’s session, due to the fall in the telecom and real estate sectors at close.
The index rose 0.05% or 4.8 points to the level of 9,888.39 points, Al Rayan Islamic Index advanced 0.44% and the All Share Index grew 0.1%.
The consumer goods and services was the best performing sector after rising 2%, thanks to an increase of 4.5% in Medicare Group which topped today’s gainers.
On the other hand, insurance and telecom were the worst sectors as they fell by 1.74% and 0.6% respectively, hit by Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar.
The real estate sector also shrank 0.43%, pressured by Barwa and Ezdan.
Qatar First Bank led decliners by slipping 4.59% to QAR 12.25 after 1.91 million shares were exchanged, making it the largest-traded stock.
Medicare made the highest liquidity with QAR 35 million through exchanging 335,800 shares.
The bourse’s main index grew yesterday by 0.29% or 28 points to 9,883.59 points.
