Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Sunday on a high note backed by the telecommunications sector despite falls in banks and real estate.
The general index gained 0.27% or 12.26 points to close at 4,615.46 points. Turnover amounted to AED 59.6 million after 20.7 million shares were exchanged.
The telecommunications sector led risers, adding 1.81% after its stock Etisalat saw a similar increase.
On the negative side, the banks sector shed 0.20% after Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) declined 0.28%, while the real estate sector decreased 0.15% after Eshraq Properties went down 1.56%.
The energy sector slipped 0.06% after ADNOC Distribution tumbled 0.82%.
Abu Dhabi Ship Building led the ADX’s fallers, sliding 9.9%, whereas Methaq led risers, adding 3.95%.
Etisalat’s stock was the value leader with AED 17.17 million, while Eshraq led in terms of volume with 5.91 million shares traded.
