Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Sunday, the first trading session of the week, on a positive note, backed by the telecommunications and banks sectors.
The general index grew 0.62% or 29.10 points and closed the session at 4,691.68 points. Turnover amounted to AED 71.56 million down from AED 109.91 million on Thursday, while traded volume decreased to 28.67 million shares versus 30.44 million.
The telecommunications sector and its only stock Etisalat gained 1.19% each, while the banks sector increased 0.72% after Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) rose 1.49% and 0.81%, respectively.
On the negative side, the energy sector led losers, falling 1.40% after TAQA plunged 4.80%, while Dana Gas lost 0.92%. The real estate sector also shed 0.39% after Aldar Properties declined 0.48%.
