Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed in the green on Wednesday, adding 0.47% or 48.24 points to reach 10,205.61 points.
Most sectors ended the session up, with the exception of the services and real estate sectors, which decreased 1.22% and 0.21%, respectively.
The telecoms sector led risers with 0.69% after Ooredoo gained 0.96%.
The real estate sector went up 0.58% as United Development Co, Barwa Real Estate, and Ezdan Holding Group increased 2.08%, 0.74%, and 0.33%, respectively.
The industrials sector grew 0.55% after Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding rose 1.37% and Industries Qatar gained 1.22%.
The banks sector levelled up 0.45% as Dlala Brokerage and Investment Holding and Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) grew 1.37% and 1.28%, respectively.
Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution led rising stocks, surging 9.79%, whereas Zad Holding Co was the worst performer by losing 9.71%.
Traded volume dropped to 8.88 million shares on Wednesday against 11.54 million shares on Tuesday. Liquidity also declined to QAR 232.75 million against QAR 271.23 million in the previous session.
Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of traded volume with 2.07 million shares, while Industries Qatar recorded the highest turnover of QAR 21.26 million.
Earlier on Wednesday, the benchmark index added 0.24% to 10,181.51 points.
