Thales, KSA’s SAR ink deal to maintain Northern Train project

Riyadh – Mubasher: France-based Thales signed 2-year agreement with the Saudi Railway Company (SAR) to maintain the electromechanical, telecommunication, and signaling systems of the Northern Train project.

The agreement also includes the transfer Thales’ experience which will enable SAR to implement maintenance activities after the end of contract.

Thales completed its establishments to provide the Saudi teams with the vocational and technical qualifications in telecommunications and signaling systems, rolling stock maintenance, and train driving.

“Throughout its historic presence in the kingdom, the group has developed very strong cooperation with local industries and universities to speed up the transfer of knowledge, know-how and capabilities,” Thales’ direction in Saudi Arabia Jean-Yves Tolot said.


“This contract win further solidifies our footprint in the kingdom. Along with our partners, we have established a solid industrial network to provide maintenance and services to our customers in the kingdom,” Tolot concluded.
