Thomas Cook launches Bristol-Hurghada direct flights

Cairo – Mubasher: UK-based travel group Thomas Cook has launched new weekly flights between Bristol and Hurghada, the British Embassy in Cairo said.

The first flight was launched from Bristol on Tuesday, 1 May with more than 200 passengers, according to the Embassy’s statement.

The number seats of flights to Egypt, especially to Hurghada and Marsa Alam, have been increased by 14% across the UK in 2018, the company’s chief airlines officer Christoph Debus said.

“That’s good news for Egypt’s economy – with British tourists’ nights up 90% last year and spending double. And it’s good for the Bristol’s holidaymakers who this morning left behind cold and rainy skies and a sea temperature of 11 degrees in Bristol, to find sunny skies and 26 degree water in Hurghada,” British Ambassador to Egypt John Casson said.

During the previous week, Thomas Cook stated that sales of tourist flights to Egypt surged 89% in the current season, compared to 2017.
