Three sectors drag ADX down Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index shed 9.63 points, or 0.21%, to close at 4,533.11 points on Sunday, pressured by real estate, telecommunications, and banks sectors.

The ADX’s trading volume dropped to 27.32 million shares from 82.69 million on Thursday, while the market’s liquidity plunged to AED 62.43 million from AED 229.47 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector lost 0.95% after Aldar Properties levelled down 1.33%.

The telecommunication sector and its only stock, Etisalat, went down 0.28% each. 

The banks sector also sank 0.24%, while the consumer staples sector declined 3.24%, as Agthia tumbled 4.26%.

Etisalat topped the ADX in terms of liquidity, with a turnover of AED 14.65 million, while Dana Gas was the most-actively traded stock on the market, with 3.21 million traded shares.

On the other hand, the energy sector surged 2.16% after Dana Gas rose 1.33%.
